Dubai Police Social Media Accounts compromised

Dubai Police official Social Media accounts Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Tumblr compromised by TheHorsemen hackers group.

The Dubai Police account is a popular account with social media users as it provides news, alerts and public service notices and advices. It has nearly 260,000 followers.

A hacker using the Twitter handle @TheHorsemenLulz claimed ownership for the attack and posted photos of other compromised Dubai Police social media accounts, including Tumblr, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Police regained access to the accounts by 11pm on Sunday and the tweets were removed from their feed.

In a status update, the force’s official Twitter page read: “Dubai Police is spying on you, Isn't it fair that we the people do the same back? hacked by @TheHorsemenLulz”.

At the time of writing the post had been removed.
